Editor's note: There are a lot of migrant guest workers form Nepal in KL. At the bakery shop, I met the very friendly Nepal supervisor. He had been away for a few months as he had to go home to help his family, whose home was badly damaged by the earthquake, but fortunately his family was well. They are getting aid from China for rebuilding and he also mentioned that relations with India had deteriorated badly and Nepal was relying more on China. So, I am prompted to put in some snippets on Nepal-China and Sri Lanka-China that just caught my eye.
For Malaysia's balancing act between China and USA, the shift with TPPA moving ahead will be evolving faster. More negative talk on the foreign policy front on South China Seas, which now points to a solidly emerging trend. But still hoping for China FDI. MCKIP draws investments from China worth RM2.2 billion Published: 19 September 2015 7:49 PM The Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park (MCKIP) in the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) continues to record significant progress with two more investors from China with total investments amounting RM2.2 billion. The new investors are Guangxi Zhongli Enterprise Group Co., Ltd. with RM2 billion investment for the development of a light industry industrial park within MCKIP and manufacturing of clay porcelain and ceramic, and Zkenergy (Yiyang) New Resource Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (ZKenergy) with RM200 million investment for the development of an engineering and production-based centre that will produce renewable energy for MCKIP. Johor hopes to tap large scale Chinese industries By Halim Said - 14 October 2015 @ 5:49 PM NUSAJAYA: Johor is hoping to tap into various large scale industries from China, especially in the manufacturing sector. Johor Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (JACCCI) vice-president Datuk Tan Seng Leong said the association was bullish and is on the look out for suitable land in the state to accomodate demand from Chinese investors. "There has been a lot of demand from Chinese investors to set up their operations in Johor," said Tan. According to Tan, with the rising costs of operation and labour, including the increase in utility tariff in China, Johor was particularly attractive to Chinese investors. Mahathir's remarks comes as experts on China said Wisma Putra's move to call in Huang was unnecessary and that it should have been dealt with privately..... The whole row can be traced back to the Himpunan Rakyat Bersatu rally on Sept 16, during which red clad protesters clashed with police barring them from entering Petaling Street. This itself was reaction to allegedly anti-Malay insults made during the supposedly Chinese-dominated Bersih 4 rally. Mahathir blamed the government for this perception. "It was the government that mistranslated (Bersih) as a racial issue. It seems that Bersih was a Chinese movement to overthrow a Malay government which is not true at all. "The Bersih demonstration was not Chinese (dominated). Lots of Malays were involved... and what they asked was for the prime minister to step down and to have a better election mechanism. nothing about race at all," he said.

Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaludin had also reportedly weighed in on the matter, saying Malaysia must send a signal to other countries not to meddle in its affairs.
